What's New, Scooby-Doo?

So. Shifting gears in quite a few ways here. Let's start with a few things that are new, and I'll get into each a little bit more.

  1. I got a second job.

  2. I switched majors.

  3. I'm self-publishing my debut novel, Secrets in Ashes.

I think that's about it. If I need to, I'll add more.

So, first off, I got a second job! Yay! Local barista, here to make coffee and win hearts. I actually got this job for financial reasons, but since I've started, I've honestly been loving it more than life itself. It's been such a wonderful job, and it's definitely been everything I've need. Plus! Coffee!

So.

Switching majors.

Again.

This time, it's stuck. I've purposely been waiting to share because I've been so uncertain it would stick. But, I've done it. I've changed majors and now I'm going to Parker University to go get my degree in Anatomy, and follow it up with my Doctor of Chiropractic, to be followed by my Master's in Neurology. I'm incredibly excited to get my foot in the door. I really just want to help people and be that person for someone. I once had the most amazing doctor that I got to bond with on a deep level, and I want to be that for someone. It's hard to be chronically ill, but when you have doctors who truly care about you, it makes a huge difference. And the last new thing, and the biggest one:

I'm self-publishing Secrets in Ashes.

I am so overwhelmed by the amount information that goes into self-publishing a book, but I am so incredibly excited to officially be announcing the self-publication of my baby, which has been in works for an incredibly long time.

I'm not totally sure what prompted me to take this route, but it really feels like a God-thing. Everything is just working out perfectly. I've already found an amazing cover artist who is taking commissions right now, and I've found a friend who does social media who may be able to help me at least figure out where to start.

I definitely need to be more active here and on TikTok, but that's totally fine by me. I'm so excited for that. My projected publication date will likely be either January or June. I'm leaning January, but we'll see how things go.

A lot has changed for me lately, and it seems to be contagious. My best friend is going through some massive changes in her life too, and it's just so funny to me how in-sync we are. Life is going and going and going, hard and strong and fast, and it's kind of just knocking me off my feet. But, in a good way, and she's going through the same thing.

It's absolutely terrifying. I'm so scared I want to cry, but I've also never been more excited in my life. I finally feel like things are starting to go my way, and I love it so much.

It feels good.

It feels... right.

I will say, it likely means I will close this blog down come October (or at least completely remodel it), when it's time to re-up my contracts for running it. I don't use it nearly as much as I'd like, and to be honest, it may be time to put the money to a better use. The other thing I may do is change this website to my author website. I'll likely change the domain name, if I do that. We'll see. I'm really excited to play with this, y'all.

Thank you so much for all of your love and support. I don't know where I'd be without y'all.

I'm excited to see what the future holds, and I hope you'll stay here with me to see it.
